The Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum is a collection of more than a dozen historic buildings located on ten acres of the original Dr. Joseph Loop estate in the Lake Huron harbor village of Port Sanilac. The Hi-Way is conveniently located 5 miles east of Sandusky and 9 miles west of Port Sanilac (on the lakeshore) on M-46 in Carsonville, Michigan. It is within an hour or two of most of the Detroit Metro Area.

Sanilac Petroglyphs Historic State Park is a state park in Michigan containing Michigan’s only known rock carvings attributable to Native American Indians. The park consists of 240 acres in Greenleaf Township, Sanilac County, in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

The Petroglyphs will be open for viewing Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Memorial Day through Labor Day (please call to confirm hours and dates). The archaeological site may also be available for a special viewing during the rest of the year via a use permit.
